Business owners help ‘The Marketing Launchpad to ‘take off’ in Harborough
Over 50 local businesses attended the launch of a book written by Alastair Campbell on Monday (12th July). The event, which was held at the Angel Hotel in the town, included a free marketing seminar, book signing and question and answer session for businesses from around the region.
The book, entitled ‘The Marketing Launchpad’, aims to give business owners cost effective marketing strategies, many of which have been used by Alastair in his 20 year marketing career. “I wanted to show that there are lots of practical, low cost techniques that businesses can use which don’t have to cost the earth.” comments Alastair.
The launch was attended by businesses from Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire. Phil Shepherd, President of Harborough’s Chamber of Commerce commented “It was useful to hear so many practical, low cost business generation ideas. The business owners I spoke to seemed very keen on what they heard and read,” comments Phil. “In fact, Alastair’s book is focused on how businesses can find ways of attracting new customers and marketing themselves effectively without blowing their budget.”
Alastair runs The Ideal Marketing Company based in Coventry Road, as well as carrying out speaking engagements across the midlands. He has also been one of the main forces behind the cinema for Harborough campaign. “It has been an ambition of mine to write a book for many years,” he comments. “Whilst it has been difficult to fit it in with all my family, business and cinema commitments, I’m absolutely delighted with the reception it has received so far.”
‘The Marketing Launchpad’ retails at £12.99 on Amazon and will also be available at Waterstones in Market Harborough from this week onwards (WB 19th July).
