Setting goals is so important. There is an old adage that "the person who is going nowhere usually gets there." It is worth all of us taking time out occasionally to set and then review goals.

Generally 3 is a good number - too many goals and it becomes hard to focus. It is also important to write them down, as it makes them sort of real then. If they're just stored in the memory they can be easily forgotten, but write them down and you will naturally think about them when you review them occasionally. There are some training CDs packed with many good ideas on goal setting on the Associated Learning Systems website http://www.associatedlearningsystems.co.uk/product_list.asp?Section=SELF%20DEVELOPMENT
